Avise MCV is a specialized lab blood service that can help accurately diagnose rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In addition, Avise MCV has been shown to be useful in identifying those individuals who might be prone to more aggressive RA. With Avise MCV results, your doctor has a better chance of diagnosing RA and deciding the appropriate treatment course to minimize long-term joint damage.

Research has shown that early diagnosis and appropriate treatment of RA are important in preventing long term joint and bone damage. Avise MCV will help your doctor to determine if you have RA and to develop a course of therapy that is right for you.

Your doctor will give you instructions on how to get the test performed. In some cases, your sample will be collected at your doctor’s office; in other cases, you will need to visit a lab to have your sample drawn. All blood samples for Avise MCV are sent to Exagen Diagnostics in San Diego, California for processing.
